On 28 February 2023 the Committee on Petitions will hold a public hearing with professors and experts on the topic “The language immersion model in Catalonia, Spain“. The public hearing will follow up on several petitions on the impact of the immersion model in Catalan at schools.
- Session I: The compatibility between European regulations and case law and the linguistic model in Catalonia.
- Session II: Impact of linguistic immersion in Catalonia on the school performance of students whose mother tongue is Spanish.
- Session III: The Catalan linguistic-cultural model
- Session IV: Linguistic immersion in Catalonia, respect for secular bilingualism in Catalonia and compatibility with the linguistic conjunction model.
- Q&A session
- Closing remarks by Dolors Montserrat, Chair of the Committee on Petitions
